While I plan to let the collective know a bit about myself, as time goes by, I wanted to state right away that my main focus at this point is the crucial struggles our country is facing regarding the evangelical stranglehold on our political system. (SEE: Jesus Camp)
I want to feel free in this space to discuss what it is to be a "free" woman in the state of South Dakota. What it means to vote down a ban on abortion, only to have it brutally thrust in our faces less than three months later.
I am attending the local college's production of The Vagina Monologes, which I had the great pleasure of seeing off Broadway with Kathrine Helman and Hayley Mills several years ago. I think it comes at a sad time in my homestate's political history, but I am not giving up. Regardless of the outcome.
You'll come to expect nothing less from me. :)
